Position Overview:
As an HVAC Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that meet performance, sustainability, and code requirements. From entry-level contributors to senior project leaders, this role offers meaningful opportunities to shape energy-efficient environments from concept to construction.

Key Responsibilities (Will Vary by Experience):

  • Design HVAC systems including load calculations, ductwork, piping, and equipment selection

  • Develop plans, specifications, and construction documents using AutoCAD and/or Revit

  • Perform energy modeling and system analysis to ensure code compliance and efficiency

  • Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and plumbing teams

  • Review submittals, RFIs, and perform site visits during construction

  • Provide QA/QC on designs and documentation

  • Lead design teams and manage client communication on large-scale projects (senior-level roles)

Qualifications:
Entry-Level:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC principles and mechanical systems

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software

  • Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn building systems design

  • Internship or academic project experience preferred

Mid-Level:

  • 3–5 years of experience in HVAC design for commercial or institutional buildings

  • Familiarity with local building codes, ASHRAE standards, and LEED practices

  • Strong project documentation and coordination skills

  • Experience with load calculation tools (e.g., Trace 700, HAP)

Senior-Level:

  • 6+ years of experience in HVAC engineering and project leadership

  • Expertise in complex HVAC systems, sustainable design, and code compliance

  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead client meetings and design teams

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or in progress

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with chilled water, VRF, geothermal, or energy recovery systems

  • LEED Accreditation or knowledge of green building practices

  • Working knowledge of IBC, IMC, and energy codes (IECC, Title 24)
